4-H Alpaca/Llama Club

Objectives of this club are to help members enjoy Alpacas & Llamas as they learn history, training and care of Alpacas & Llamas.  We hope to encourage and develop members into better citizens by working together for the good of the member, animals, club, community and world.  We anticipate establishing the member as the person responsible for the alpaca/llama’s physical & nutritional care and mental health. We will promote the 4-H program and Alpaca Industry in Delaware County, IN.

The Club is sponsored by The Shepherd’s Oak Alpaca & Fiber Farm in Albany Indiana.  Meetings are held at the farm - 10410 East Gregory Road.  The club is open to all 4-H members in Delaware County.  Members do not have own their own Alpaca or Llama.

Annual Club Membership

$15      For members who have their own Alpaca or Llama
            $30      For member who need to lease an Alpaca or Llama

Project levels

Beginner 4-H (Grades 3, 4 & 5)
Intermediate 4-H (Grades 6, 7 & 8)          Advanced 4-H (Grades 9 & Above)

2007 4-H Club Calendar

Tuesday meeting times will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm March - July.  Meetings are bimonthly.  Members are encouraged to visit the farm other than just meeting times to help in the care and training of animals leased for the project.  Older members will be given opportunities to participate in other sanctioned shows, parades and public service activities.  All these activities will be beneficial for the member in the Activity Journal.
